AAOS Pathway to Residency – IDEA Grant

A longitudinal mentorship and financial support program designed to reduce barriers to orthopaedic away rotations and residency applications for underrepresented medical students. Scholars receive stipends, structured education, and one-on-one mentorship to strengthen preparedness, confidence, and match success.

A national AAOS Annual Meeting–based experience that provides medical students and residents with funded access, mentorship, and leadership development in orthopaedic surgery. Through immersive programming and authentic connections, UNIDOS and AVANCE build a strong pipeline of diverse future orthopaedic leaders.

AALOS FUERZA Resident Bootcamp

A hands-on, two-day surgical skills and professional development bootcamp for Latino orthopaedic residents. FUERZA combines simulation-based training, leadership education, and mentorship to enhance technical competence, confidence, and long-term success in residency.
